If you are in real estate in 2017 then you know you are now expected to market not only yourself but your listings as well on social media. How does one do that? I mean carry a full-time job as a Realtor© and another full-time job as a Social Media Marketer? It means you are making time to do the following:
- Create newsletters one to four times a month.
- Manage your Facebook page, LinkedIn profile, Twitter, Google and Instagram accounts.
- Create blog posts.
- Curate original content to brand yourself.
- Participate in local groups on Facebook and other social media platforms.
- Keep up with the changes happening on social media.
- Create visuals to market your listings.
Can it be done? It can. It requires a good handle on time management. Will you get tired? I think maybe, but if you like what you are doing and you grew up with the social media then it is probably second nature to you.
There are other jobs in your office that require full-time attention. What are some of those jobs? Buyer’s assistant, transaction coordinator, receptionist, and administrative assistant. I believe when your brokerage is financially ready they will realize the importance social media plays in the growth of your business. They will realize how that negative review can hurt the brokerage and how fast that can happen. Online marketing is a whole other ballgame that can have direct consequences on a business’ reputation. I take that deeply serious.
Real Estate Social Media will become a full-time position in every real estate office across the world. I’m sure of it, but until then my job is to do the fill in work for the agents whose office doesn’t employ a full-time assistant yet. I want to market you as if you had one.
